Art and expression have tremendous powers to express our souls and to heal.  The “Emotional Flowers” series is about just that- using the image of the flower or flowers to portray feelings, emotions. and relationships through color. I typically paint just one flower- just like an individual, we are all unique.  We each have our own beauty. By focusing on just one flower, just as we focus on one person, we are able to feel and see their inner light and to truly connect..  Around the flowers, I paint a ‘halo’ of colors that also express emotions tied to the chakras.  My process is largely meditative.  While I am inspired by a specific flower that I find in my travels and use photography as a reference, the rest of the depiction is largely guided by a specific emotion, largely centered around my heart and is an expression of compassion and love.
