California has been my home for over 30 years. I feel blessed every day to be here, and to be able to capture her beauty in my work. I especially love to paint 'Plein Air', in the landscape, whether I hike to a location or paint by the side of a cliff or even a quiet road. I've also painted from strange and unusual places, from a kayak in open water, to a rental car in Spain, or a field of sunflowers in Tuscany. In 2020, my partner Kevin and I purchased a Jeep and hit the road, traveling over 80,000 miles throughout North America to date, enabling me to paint pristine and largely inaccessible places. My pieces are either painted plein air or as studio pieces, are all based on my own photography. I strongly believe if I haven't been there, I can't possibly capture the 'essence of place' quite adequately. Commissions are also welcomed.
